Some from Mens 1/2/3 & Women’s 1/2 -the only races I was able to make. Feel free to use any of these images for social media, but please credit @mikenauman.cc (instagram)
Thanks! Unfortunately I don’t have any from the women’s 3/4. I had a busy morning and was only able to make it in time for the women’s 1/2. I plan on shooting more races next year though and will try to get most of the races.
I guess that was a trick question, Mike, since the women’s 3/4 start a minute behind the women’s 1/2. Looks like you caught a few of the 3/4s, was curious if there were any more outtakes. Love seeing the visual story of Syd and Maria.
Tricks, huh? Well shows what I know -I didn’t realize the 3/4’s were also out on the course. There may be a few more worth posting. I will look through them again and post more when I get a chance.
I was tested yesterday. Quite a process, was approached right before podiums. Cool people, one drove up from TN, the other two were from Wi. Had to drink a ton of water when I just wanted a beer! They told me 6 people were being tested at States yesterday. Makes our little series that much more pro. Glad to see them there and I told them thanks for doing what they do.
Putting my race kit together today noticed I was missing my black Craft long-sleeve base. Must’ve lost it 2 weeks ago at PRR. Anyway happen find it in their bags? Checked lost and found. Thanks!
Awesome racing everyone! Here are a handful of photos from single speed through the women’s races. Free to use as you wish!

Ahhh, enjoyed seeing a snap of me! Ahhh, cyclocross — there are few sports where you can be breathing so hard, feeling near death, and yet moving so slowly through mud. 😀
#Speechless #HeartFILLEDwithGRATITUDE Thank you to everybody in this amazing AND delightful community for the true privilege of my professional career. 2018 at the Chicago Cyclocross Cup was a blessing that I will cherish the rest of my life. To all the racers, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors, race directors, promoting clubs, fans, and CCC BoD, thank you for letting me tell your story. A what a story it is.
You make it so fun. Your preparedness does not go unnoticed and the commentary is just awesome though the day. Music lists tailored to riders that are likely on the course at the time. Perfect stuff. We are lucky to have you.
Hip hip hooray for Kenny Labbe! We’d just be crazy people riding bikes in a muddy field without your energy, and it has been great to see the method behind the madness this season. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!
Kenny,
What an awesome job you do! Thank you for all the many days you spent at the races, you are truly the voice of our series! We really appreciate it, Thanks for all the shout outs to the old guys still racing!
It wouldn’t be the same without you Kenny! I am amazed by how much you know about every racer, and how your energy and enthusiasm are consistent throughout the day. Thank you!!!!
I’m always amazed at how you know so much about most of the racers and make it personal. Adds a lot of value to the series when racers, fans, spectators can get to know some of the racers outside of racing or from their past. A class act every race, and the best announcer I’ve heard, whether amateur or pro. Thanks for making the races more interesting and fun. See ya next year.
Thank you, Kenny! You do such a stellar job and your passion for the sport and the community really shows. It was so great to be back at Montrose with everyone. What a great event. Cara and I have already decided that we’re going to make it a yearly trip.
Kenny: You are awesome. You have become a polished professional. Not only do we have the best race series in America but we have the best race announcer as well. Wrap it all together and this is what makes it all so special. Thanks for making everyone feel so good each and every race day!
Ken – I was thinking about you the other morning… The 8 am call out announcing another perfect day for Cyclocross – always some good music. You are so much of the fabric that is this fun and crazy scene. Nothing like a call out from you with a lap to go. Thank you for everything you do to make it that much more fun for all of us!
A few things:
First and very foremost, thank you to everyone: organizers, racers, officials, spectators, and every combination of those, for a wonderful season. Great time had by all every weekend.
Last, but importantly, I lost some sunglasses: black and pink Oakley radar locks with yellow lenses. Anyone find then? Email me please! pforadas@gmail.com

Wow, these are awesome! If you happen to have snapped any from the cat 3/4 half of the women’s race, please share!

Thanks for sharing that story Rachel! It’s good to see you back racing and I hope you’re enjoying your 70 hours of recovery <3
Any idea how many got USADA tested and who they were? Asking for a friend…

Awesome. Congrats on a great race, Tim! Good luck at Nats.
Syd and I from the 1/2 Women, Rory and Jarret from 1/2 men.
First and Second in the state they said. Great that they are out testing and putting our license fees to good work.
